SJU Graduates Third-Largest Class
The 2010 SJU graduating class included 444 undergraduate men and 29 School of Theology·Seminary graduates. When combined with CSB's 494 graduates, this year's combined undergraduate graduating class of 938 is the second-largest class ever.
The Rev. Edwin D. Leahy, OSB, headmaster of St. Benedict's Prep in Newark, N.J., delivered the commencement address and received an honorary Doctor of Laws degree. Saint John's Abbey and University presented its Pax Christi Award to John Paul Lederach, professor of international peacebuilding at the University of Notre Dame. Matthew Beck '10, an English and German double major from Buckman, Minn., was the student commencement speaker.
