New alumni chapters were recently launched in Japan and Bosnia-Herzegovina, as the international scope of the Johnnie connection grows.

There are already chapters in Hong Kong and the Bahamas.

The Bosnia-Herzegovina (BiH) chapter received its charter on June 8 during a luncheon with Saint John's President Dietrich Reinhart, OSB. Damir Tokic '06 serves as the chapter president.

The Japan Chapter received its charter on June 26 during a visit to Tokyo by Dave Bennetts, CSB/SJU professor of history and chair of the history department. The group plans to produce a Japanese-language publication about Saint John's in Japan. The chapter also plans to create a support system for Johnnies coming to Japan.  Aaron Toussaint '05 is the president of the Japan chapter.
