This year was the first annual Alumni and Friends South Dakota Pheasant Hunt in Conde South Dakota near Aberdeen.  Fifteen alumni and friends gathered on October 24-25, 2008 for two days of pheasant hunting and camaraderie.  Following the Friday night hunt, participants gathered in Aberdeen for a dinner and social as well as an update from Saint John's.

Alumni came from areas including Minnesota, South Dakota and even as far as the state of Virginia.  Hunting was incredible, having seen thousands of birds, and was capped off by the hospitality of Rich Evans '74 who shared wines from his vineyard and smoked cheese on the tailgate of his truck.

This trip was planned by Alumni Association Board member Neal Olson '58.  Plans are already being made for the 2009 hunting season with dates for the 2nd Annual Alumni and Friends South Dakota Pheasant Hunt set for October 23-24th, 2009.  If you are interested and would like to receive more information, contact Troy Fritz of the Saint John's Alumni Office at [email protected].
