Alumni Achievement Award Nominees Honored

This year's Alumni Achievement Awards will honor Roger Scherer '58, Art Froehle '63, Greg Scherer '68, John Thavis '73, Matt Stergios '78, Bernie Dan '83, Rob Fairbank '88.

The award salutes professional and career accomplishments and contributions to community. It is presented by the SJU Alumni Association Board of Directors and the University.

 Award presentations will be made at the recipients' class reunion dinners during Homecoming/Reunion weekend, Sept. 26-27.

Past recipients include the late Sen. Eugene McCarthy '35; the late National Football League Hall of Famer Johnny (Blood) McNally '24; missionary priest Fr. Jack Davis '65; Wall Street executive Roger Birk '52; and Mike Hennessey '70, sheriff of San Francisco.

 Nominations for the 2008 award were made for the reunion classes 1958-88. Class committees reviewed the names and forwarded a ranked list to the Alumni Association Board Executive Committee for final selection.
