Lost and Found
Losing personal items can be frustrating and stressful. Hopefully we can help!
To Report a Found Item:
- If you come across a lost item on Saint John’s University property, please turn it in as quickly as possible. In the meantime though, make sure to keep it safe and secure.
- Complete the Lost and Found form. As you will see on the form, we offer two options for turning in found items:
- Drop it off at the SJU Life Safety in person.
- If you are unable to drop off the item, you can request that a SJU Life Safety security officer picks up the found item from your location.
To Report a Lost Item:
- Act quickly! The longer you wait to report a lost item, the less likely it is to be found.
- Fill out the Lost and Found form. Provide as much detail as possible to help identify the item.
- Contact us via email to check on the status of your inquiry. We may ask for additional details.
- If your lost item is found, we’ll contact you. However, if the item is not found, keep track of any updates you receive from us. If you find your item, please contact us so we can close the inquiry.
To Claim Something from Lost and Found:
- If you think we may have an item of yours in our lost and found, fill out the Lost and Found form. If we have an item matching the description you give us, we will contact you via email.
- When you go to the SJU Life Safety Office to claim your item, bring a valid photo identification such as a driver’s license, student ID or passport.
- You will be asked to sign a receipt. Keep this in a safe place in case you need to reference it later.
