Trapshooting Club Constitution
Mission: To educate all interested students in the proper technique of the sport of trapshooting, as well as teaching the safe handling of a firearm. Also to create a sense of community throughout the members with a feeling of Benedictine Values that CSB/SJU represents.
I. The Name of the club is the Trapshooting club
II. The members of the club elect an executive board at the end of the spring shooting season. Each member of those elected will serve for a period of one year
A. President- To coordinate and implement all objectives of the club
B. Vice-President/Treasurer- To aid the President in coordinating and implementing the objectives of the club, and also to conduct monthly audits of the club account and take care of monetary issues.
III. The advisor will be chosen by the executive board and will oversee the activities of the club.
IV. This club is compromised entirely of non-profit, volunteer workers; no person receives any honorarium.
V. Dues are collected by the senior most club member present at each event. Dues are collected prior to each event from each participant present at the event, in order to pay for that event.
VI. All meetings are held when deemed necessary by the members of the executive board or by a member when the constitution is broken.
VII. Membership to the club is open to any CSB/SJU student of faculty member. Amending of this constitution will be done only if the said amendments have been agreed upon by two-thirds of club members. Any changes made to this constitution must be submitted to the Department of Student Activities and the JCB.
VIII. The Organization follows the mission of the College of St. Benedict and of St. John's University, and all will abide by the policies and regulations of these institutions.
IX. The Trapshooting Club admits students without regard to their race, religion, color, sex, age, sexual orientation, or national or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and other activities, generally accorded or made available to members of the organization.
The Trapshooting Club considers hazing to be a degrading and destructive activity, which is inconsistent with the standards of this student organization. The Trapshooting Club recognizes the dignity of every person and opposes all forms of hazing.
