Areas of Interest and Research

Developmental Psychology, Emotional and Social Development, the Influence of Parenting on Child Development

My primary research interest is to examine familial self-regulation, specifically emotion-regulation, during times of trauma and life transition across the lifespan. My secondary research interest investigates how major life events reshape parenting and the parent-child relationship.  My third research interest focuses on testing emotion regulation practices and coping mechanisms in family interventions that aim to decrease family stress.  I draw on quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods to address my research goals.
