History

The Saint John's Private Investment Fund was established in 1999 when Mark Flynn '78, managing partner of Trilogy Investments in Menlo Park, Calif., envisioned the opportunity for Johnnie venture capitalists to share some of their expertise, time and money to help Saint John's.  He proposed that Saint John's consider a private investment effort that would be patterned on the one begun by Stanford University in the early 1980s.

On Dec. 2, 1999, the Saint John's Board of Regents formally approved the creation of the Private Investment Fund.
