Study Abroad Health-related Opportunities
One of the most transformative experiences that students can have at Saint Ben’s and Saint John’s is study abroad. We have unique study abroad programs, some semester-long, others shorter term and embedded within a semester. A number of these programs have unique components that will expose students to health care-related topics and activities in an interdisciplinary fashion.
South Africa
The semester-long South Africa program has a volunteer and community engaged learning component. All students enroll in a community engaged learning course and participate in one of three projects sponsored by Saint Ben’s and Saint John’s. Each week students spend 6 to 8 hours on-site in some of Gqeberha’s townships and some projects are health-related in nature.
