Student Employment

Saint John's Outdoor University regularly hires students for these positions. 

Some positions are currently filled. Open positions are posted online through Student Employment where you can complete an application for the position you are interested in filling.

Student Naturalist (multiple positions)

Supplement your academic career and gain valuable teaching experience assisting with environmental programming at Outdoor U, both outdoors and in the office.
10-12 hours/week

Student Naturalist Aide (multiple positions)

Spend some time  outdoors helping Outdoor U run field-trip experiences for preK-12 grade students.  Great for students seeking some practical teaching experience.
20-30 hours/semester

Marketing and Office Assistant (1 position)

Learn the inner workings of an environmental organization and hone your personal communication skills working on a variety of Outdoor U projects.
10-12 hours/week

Land Stewardship Laborer (multiple positions)

This position helps the Abbey Arboretum and Outdoor U care for the wildlife, the forest, the wetlands, the prairie and the lakes.  It also assists in the maintenance of the hiking trails, ski trails, and woods roads.  This can include moving rock, lifting/stacking firewood, planting trees, and exposure to the elements.
10-12 hours/week
