2024 Naturalist Series

Join Outdoor U environmental education staff to learn about a variety of naturalist topics throughout the year.

Have you ever noticed moths and other creatures attracted to light on a summer night? Using a blacklight to attract moths and other critters, we can make some up-close observations. This is a late night program to give us the best opportunity to witness these critters in the dark.

This story begins with a falling log and continues with a hike in the Abbey Arboretum to look for the critters that use that log for food, habitat, and more.

Bring your own camera for this opportunity to learn four different photography techniques for capturing your best nature pics.
