CSB+SJU Outdoor Education

Outdoor U programs host student-led events throughout the year. These programs focus on leadership development and outdoor recreation, building outdoor skills and character at the same time. Although several events are exclusive to CSB and SJU students, many of the programs can be utilized by the community, including team-building, the climbing wall, and wilderness training programs.

Peer Resource Program (PRP)

Wilderness trips, team-building, and on-campus events designed by students for students to promote healthy risk-taking and personal development.

Outdoor Leadership Center (OLC)

Student-run gear center promoting outdoor recreation by providing equipment, programs and training to optimize enjoyment of the outdoors.

Indoor Climbing Wall

The Wall is located in the Warner Palaestra on the SJU campus. At 40-feet high and with a variety of climbing routes, it is a great place to learn or build your skills. No experience required!

Make the transition to college at CSB+SJU with a multi-day outdoor orientation program for incoming first-year and transfer students. Participants will canoe and camp in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.

Team Building

Programs designed to meet your group’s goals using initiatives, games, and activities that foster intrapersonal and interpersonal growth within your group. Great for classes, sports teams, clubs, study abroad groups, and more.
