Student Naturalist 

Supplement your academic career and gain valuable teaching experience assisting with environmental programming at Outdoor U, both outdoors and in the office. 10-12 hours/week.

Student Naturalist Aide

Spend some time outdoors helping Outdoor U run field trip experiences for preK-12 students. Great for students seeking some practical teaching experience.  20-30 hours/semester.

Marketing and Office Assistant

Learn the inner workings of an environmental organization and hone your personal communication skills working on a variety of Outdoor U projects. 10-12 hours/week.

Student Land Manager

This position helps the Abbey Arboretum and Outdoor U care for the wildlife, forest, wetlands, prairie and lakes. It also assists in the maintenance of the hiking trails, ski trails, and forest roads. This can include moving rock, lifting/stacking firewood, planting trees, and exposure to the elements. 10-12 hours/week.

OLC Associate

This position supports the programs and operations of the Outdoor Leadership Center. The Outdoor Leadership Center, a unit of Saint John’s Outdoor University, provides expertise, programming, and equipment to CSB+SJU students and others wishing to experience the outdoors. 5-6 hours/week or 10-12 hours/week.

Inclusion Assistant

This position is part of a team of full-time and student staff working to advance our mission to provide environmental and outdoor recreation opportunities campus-wide, including working to build relationships and reduce barriers to access and participation, particularly for those from historically underrepresented and marginalized communities. 5-6 hours/week or 10-12/hours/week.

Assist in the upkeep of more than 2,500 acres of Saint John’s Abbey Arboretum. This can include invasive species removal, prescribed burning, constructing/maintaining trails and bridges, moving rock, planting trees, and cutting, splitting and stacking firewood. 40 hours/week.
