CSB athletics honors Sister Lois with building name

Alum Features Athletics

September 25, 2021

It was a special day at the College of Saint Benedict Saturday afternoon as the school paid tribute to its No. 1 fan.

At halftime of the Saint Benedict soccer team’s 5-0 win over Gustavus, the school officially presented the newly named Sister Lois Wedl Athletic Center at CSB’s Outdoor Athletic Complex.

For decades now, Wedl ’53 has been a regular and enthusiastic fixture at Bennies’ athletic events.

The building now named in her honor was first completed prior to the soccer season in the fall of 2018. It is part of a complex that includes turf and natural soccer and softball fields.

The Sister Lois Wedl Athletic Center houses locker rooms for CSB's soccer and softball teams, and also includes a team room, an athletic training room, an alumnae lounge, restrooms, ticketing, concessions and a press box for the soccer field.
