Astronaut, SJU graduate aboard ISS to answer student questions

Alum Features Campus & Community Academics

September 3, 2021

It’s not often one gets a chance to talk to and hear from an astronaut living and working in space.

But College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University students, community members and other students from nearby schools will have the chance to do just that on Tuesday, Sept. 14.

NASA astronaut and Saint John’s University graduate Mark Vande Hei ’89 – currently aboard the International Space Station (ISS) - will answer questions when he takes part in a streamed event at 3:15 p.m. that day at SJU’s Pellegrene Auditorium (please note the new starting time).

Please use the form to submit a question for Vande Hei by Thursday, Sept. 9.

Since Vande Hei will not have time to answer all the anticipated questions, the best questions will be selected ahead of time. If your question is chosen, you will be notified by Friday, Sept. 10 and asked to fill out a media release waiver.

Vande Hei conducted a similar session for CSB/SJU students and others in February 2018 during his first mission aboard the ISS.
