Followers of CSB/SJU on Instagram and Vine may notice some changes as they scroll through their feeds in the coming weeks.

Starting on Thursday, March 13, College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University students will "take over" those official CSB/SJU accounts.

Students from the Communication Department's New Media Applications and Analysis course, working in groups, will apply lessons learned in classroom to generating photos and videos for the social networks on behalf of CSB/SJU. The course is taught by Associate Professor Kelly Berg.

Groups are responsible for setting goals for their takeover, creating a profile of a target audience and applying lessons learned about effective branding through visual communication. At the end of its assigned week, each group will assess the success of their strategies and offer suggestions to the institution for continuing effective communication through these channels.

This project is the first of its kind at CSB/SJU and will serve as an experiment for future crowd-sourced institutional content generation. Observe the experiment for yourself; follow @CSBJU on Instagram and Vine.
