A CSB/SJU Referral Day call to action
Alum Features Campus & Community
December 21, 2020
Friday, Jan. 15, 2021, is CSB/SJU Referral Day, a sprint to collect the broadest, most diverse collection of prospective Bennies and Johnnies possible.
“We’re calling on our alumni, alumnae, students, parents, staff, faculty and friends,” said Nate Dehne, vice president of admission and financial aid for the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University. “We’re looking for that wide reach to help us select and build our future generation.”
“Remarkable numbers of current students and alums have chosen CSB and SJU because someone in their life talked to them about the exceptional experience and education offered at Saint Ben’s and Saint John’s,” said Interim CSB President Laurie Hamen. “We know there are great students out there – and students for whom we will be great. We don’t want to miss out on any of them.”
CSB/SJU supporters are encouraged to reach out to the prospective students (current high school students) in their lives – family, neighbors, sons and daughters of friends, etc. Encourage them to visit and consider CSB/SJU. Then submit them online as a referral using this form.
Students who are referred will be notified and will receive a voucher for a free CSB/SJU t-shirt.
Students who are referred by a Saint Ben’s or Saint John’s alum will automatically become eligible for the Alum Referral Scholarship. The scholarship is worth $1,000 per year, renewable for four years for a total of $4,000.
“Student referrals are the number one way we build our new CSB/SJU class each year,” said Dehne. “It’s the easiest and least expensive way you can contribute toward making a difference in our community. We’d love to know the students you know.”
