SJU alumnus Peter Smith reads from latest book during Writers and Readers at the Pub series
September 26, 2011
Peter Smith, a 1968 graduate of Saint John's University, will read from his latest book, A Cavalcade of Lesser Horrors, from 6:45 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3, at Brother Willie's Pub in Sexton Commons, Saint John's University.
The event, free and open to the public, is sponsored by the College of Saint Benedict/Saint John's University Libraries and titled Writers and Readers at the Pub, which is a new opportunity for all readers to meet and hear authors read from and discuss their work.
A Cavalcade of Lesser Horrors is a collection of humorous essays about the unavoidable mistakes and embarrassments in life - our lesser horrors. Smith explores a few messy episodes from his own life, including some that occurred while he was a student at SJU.
Smith is a 30-year veteran of Twin Cities advertising and a regular contributor to Morning Edition on Minnesota Public Radio. He writes magazine features, fiction and occasional op-ed pieces. He is also author of A Porch Sofa Almanac.
