The College of Saint Benedict Bookstore will be hosting a book signing with two local authors on Saturday, Oct. 24, as part of Family Weekend festivities.

The book signing will take place from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the CSB Bookstore, which is located in Mary Commons, on the College of Saint Benedict campus in St. Joseph, Minn. Bookstore hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24. The event is open to the public.

Author S. Mara Faulkner, OSB, will be signing copies of her book Going Blind. Going Blind is a memoir about growing up in a family shaped by Irish ancestry, a close-to-the-bone existence in rural North Dakota, and the secret of her father's blindness - along with the silence and shame surrounding it. Faulkner is an associate professor of English at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University. Going Blind will be 20 percent off for the day.

Poet Larry Schug will be signing copies of his book, Arrogant Bones. Arrogant Bones is Schug’s latest volume of poetry. Drawing upon his life and long resume, Schug brings much of his experience out in his verse, leading to down to earth work that anybody can understand and enjoy. He is the recycling coordinator at the College of Saint Benedict. Arrogant Bones and Schug’s other poetry books will be 20 percent off for the day.

In addition to the book signing, there will be coloring and games in the store for kids.  There will also be many specials throughout the store including 20 percent off baseball caps, children’s, parent and alumnae clothing.
