Sarah Broghammer has spent her time at CSB/SJU developing her desire to learn, and then indulging that desire. “I have continued to approach learning with eagerness, both within and outside of my English and communication majors,” she said. As Matt Callahan, her First-Year Seminar instructor recalled, “There are usually a handful of students who ‘get it’ … who see the larger issues beyond simply ‘who did what to whom.’ In Sarah’s class, she was that student." She is inquisitive, insightful and generous with her time and talents, tutoring in the Writing Center, captaining the Nordic ski club and volunteering with the Justice Walking program – an experience that has fueled her plans to attend law school.
