Caitlin O’Toole maintains an impressive 3.91 GPA in the challenging nursing major, then stretches to be an asset to her classmates as well. She has been selected by faculty to serve as a biology TA, and by her peers to be a student representative in the Nursing Department. “She is quietly assertive and confident in her ability to lead others,” said her adviser, Professor Carrie Hoover. Last summer she combined her nursing/public health learning with her summer job. “Caitlin’s attention to detail, creativity and organization … allowed the Bearpath Golf and Country Club Pool to not only open during a worldwide health crisis, but operate safely and within the guidelines set by the Minnesota Department of Health,” said Brent Pottinger, aquatics director for Bearpath.
