CSB students hold their lights during the 2012 tree lighting ceremony.

The second annual celebration of "Christmas at Saint Ben's" will be Tuesday, Dec. 3 on the College of Saint Benedict Mall. All students, staff, faculty and Sisters of the Order of Saint Benedict are welcome to attend.

Ringing bells will signify the procession to the tree at 5:30 p.m. followed by caroling between Ardolf Science Center and Clemens Library. After a blessing, the tree lighting ceremony will follow. A reception will be held at 6 p.m. in Gorecki Fireside lounge. Guests are welcome to enjoy holiday photo opportunities, Christmas cookies and musical performances by members of the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University Orchestra and DYNAMIX, a CSB a cappella group.

Last year, this event drew more than 300 CSB and SJU students, faculty and staff.

The tree, adorned in nearly 3,200 lights, will once again be donated by Joseph Styles, a St. Joseph dentist and owner of River Bluff Tree Farm. During the ceremony, CSB students will process from their residence halls and everyone will be given tea lights to hold while the CSB Women's Choir leads the group in singing Christmas carols.

This event is sponsored by the Student Development office at CSB.
