Artist receptions for Briggs, Crouser set for September

Two artists who have exhibits currently on display at galleries on the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University campuses have artist receptions on consecutive Thursdays in September.

A reception for Chloe Briggs ’11 and her oil painting exhibit “Close” is from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, at the Gorecki Gallery, Benedicta Arts Center, CSB. Briggs will give a talk on her work at 6 p.m.

A reception for Michael Crouser ’85 and his photography exhibit “Mountain Ranch: Traditional Images of Traditional Lives” is from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, at the Alice R. Rogers Gallery and Target Gallery, SJU. Crouser will give a talk on his work at 6 p.m.

Viewers still have plenty of time to see both exhibits. Briggs’ exhibit runs through Oct. 6, and Crouser’s exhibit runs through Oct. 20. Both exhibits are free and open to the public, as are the artist receptions.

The Benedict and Dorothy Gorecki Gallery hours are from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

The Saint John’s Art Gallery hours are from noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and noon to 9 p.m. on Thursday.
