Jazz Combos
The Jazz Combos, under the direction of Rich Manik, are small jazz groups in which musicians get great experience playing in a small, intimate setting, communicating, and improvising. There are usually two combos of about 5-8 musicians each. The groups meet once a week and perform regularly on and off campus, both in formal concerts with the Jazz Ensemble, and in more laid-back settings including coffee shops, pubs, and street festivals. Auditions run concurrently with auditions for Jazz Ensemble. Interested students should register for MUSC 240G for 0 or 1 credit.
