Real Talk: Ferguson

Hello from Intercultural and International Student Services.

As many of you have by now heard, it was determined that there would be no indictment of Officer Darren Wilson by a grand jury in regards to the killing of Michael Brown. As media outlets covered the story from various angles and perspectives, it was clear that what was still needed was a place and a space for people to come together - with their real and perceived similarities and differences - to figure out what conversations need to be had (and continue) and what things need to be done for all of us to move forward. Although Ferguson, Missouri seems far away, the issues this case has brought to the forefront are still very real and relevant even here. As such, we invite you to join us in an informal discussion of the impact this situation has had on different communities, including ours.

If you are willing and able to share and listen, you are invited to come to SJU - Quad 360 starting at 8:00 pm, Tuesday, December 2, 2014. Our intention is not to solve the world's problems, but to create a space for those who need to process, discuss, ponder, think, and strategize about what we need to do as individuals, a community, and a society.
