CSB/SJU Media Services is proud to offer many types of audio-visual equipment for short-term use by all students, staff and faculty. Our equipment loan system is easy, accessible and perfect for getting the tools you need for presentations, group events and multimedia projects. Items are available on a first-come first-serve basis.
All Media Services equipment can be loaned from either CSB or SJU. At SJU, all items can be checked out directly from the Learning Commons 182. At CSB, all equipment can be checked out at the Clemens Library Creative Lab (A129), and video cameras, tripods, headphones and various Mac computer adapters can also be checked out directly from the Clemens Circulation Desk.
Students, staff and faculty simply need to bring an CSB/SJU ID card with them to checkout and renew equipment.
The standard loan time for most of our equipment is 1 day. This means if you check equipment out on Monday at 3:00 p.m. then it would be due back Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. Some equipment like our External Hard Drives have a longer 3 day loan period. If you need a piece of equipment longer than the designated loan time, then you can either renew the item on a daily basis until finished or contact Media Services directly to see about a loan extension.
Similar to book loans, there is no cost to checkout Media equipment. However, if equipment items are not returned by the due date, then the patron may be charged a late fee that will continue to accumulate until returned. If equipment is not returned at all, returned damaged or returned with missing parts, then the patron may be charged for replacement fees.
If you notice your loan is missing equipment or is not working properly, please contact Media Services immediately.
If you'd like to make a reservation for equipment, please contact Media Services directly. Reservations for equipment can be booked up to 30 days in advance, and are made on a first-come, first-served basis.
At CSB all equipment can be returned to the Clemens Library's Circulation Desk or directly to the Media Services office in the Creative Lab. At SJU all equipment can be returned to the Learning Commons 182 or the Alcuin Library Circulation desk. All equipment is cleaned, checked and any data is wiped after return. The equipment must be returned by the loan due date, in good condition and with all parts and accessories supplied with the loan to avoid late fees or replacement fees.
Media Service staff at both campuses can assist with troubleshooting, training and other support for the loan equipment we provide. If you need help learning how to operate the equipment, discover that the equipment is not working properly or find that your loan is missing equipment, please stop by either of our Media offices in Clemens Library or Learning Commons for help. You may also call or email Media Services via the contact information listed on this page.
