Mike Killeen: Director, Content Development
Mike Killeen grew up wanting to be the sax player in the Rolling Stones. A music lesson that didn't go so well changed his plans.
He then dreamed of kicking field goals for the Green Bay Packers, and actually won a halftime field-goal kicking contest at Mankato State University (thanks for awarding him the prize, not).
Mike majored in history and mass communications (journalism emphasis) at Winona State University, but considers the goal he scored from behind the net in an intramural hockey game his greatest collegiate moment.
Mike has worked as a writer and copy editor at the Winona Daily News, the St. Cloud Times and St. Cloud Visitor newspapers. He has interviewed a who's-who of sports personalities, including Herb Brooks, John Gagliardi, Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux, Steve Garvey, Nancy Lopez and NHL commissioner Gil Stein.
As director of content development at CSB and SJU, Mike reports and writes stories for the CSB/SJU website and various campus magazines and works with media relations. His office also handles the distribution of hometown press releases.
