Self-Care in Times of Rapid Change

February 17, 2025 • 2 min read

Unprecedented access to information through the internet, traditional media and social media, stress and anxiety can affect us in different ways. What are some impacts of our constant exposure to news and information? How does the media we consume impact our opinions of ourselves and others, and influence our own behaviors? What are some ways we may take care of ourselves as our world seems to change faster than ever before? This Table Talk will discuss the ways we are affected by the proliferation of news and images and how we may learn to care for ourselves in this time of rapid change.

Tuesday Table Talk discussions provide an opportunity for faculty and staff to engage in conversations about topics that are often difficult to discuss, not because we lack awareness, but because we are not comfortable talking about them. These one-hour conversations about a variety of diversity-related issues and concepts and are designed to be less formal than most dialogues taking place on our campus. Participants need not be experts or particularly well-versed on a topic in order to be part of the talk. Talks take place in the Multicultural Center event space at noon on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month.

Lunch is provided. Registration is required.  Click here to register.
