As perennial leaders in the number of students who study abroad, CSB and SJU provide an outstanding platform for the study of languages and cultures. Our students deeply value other cultures and immerse themselves in them, becoming the intercultural translators the world needs. Bennies and Johnnies in the Languages and Cultures Department are reflective and transformative leaders who care about building communities – both local and global.
Language proficiency opens doors to study, work and service around the world. Exploring a new language promotes a deeper understanding of self and others. It prepares students for careers in education, writing, business, medicine, law and the arts.
