Assessment
When your students take a course that serves learning outcomes in the Integrations Curriculum, there are two things that need to happen. The first is that faculty need to use the Integrations rubrics in Canvas to assess at the same time the work is graded. The second is that students need to place artifacts into Folio/Student ePortfolios so that they have them to use later in Learning Integrations, as well as to curate a Portfolio for future employers or grad schools. Fortunately, for most of you, one quick adjustment to your Canvas assignments will do both.
The Integrations Assessment section of the Faculty Teaching and Learning Canvas page has documents to walk you through associating the assessment rubric with your assignment (or quiz). You can grade as you normally would, but will also select the appropriate assessment rating to the data can be gathered and analyzed in aggregate. In order for your students to get their work to their Portfolio, you’ll have them submit a URL instead of a file and that URL will be the link to their work on their Portfolio. In this way the artifact gets to their Portfolio, and you assess it with the Integrations rubric as part of your grading process.
Students will be introduced to Folio/Student ePortfolios in the 105 course. For students who need extra help, the Faculty Teaching and Learning Canvas page has a section on Student ePortfolios with an document intended for students.
