Canvas: Working with Speedgrader / Grading

Canvas New Quizzes

Designing Your Canvas Course and Tips & Tricks

This hands-on training will walk you through how to design a Canvas course that keeps students engaged. We will cover how to use some of the free tools available through Canvas, along with other aspects of what Canvas offers. We will also go over some Canvas Tips and Tricks!

Integrations Curriculum Embedded Assessment Using Canvas
Register for Training
For those teaching Integrations Curriculum courses, assessment of artifacts will be done right in Canvas starting in Fall 2022. In this session you’ll learn how to configure your assignments so students get their work on their eportfolio (now called Folio) while you score and assess using the Integrations rubric(s) at the same time.
The Canvas Teaching and Learning Training Resources course has a section titled 'Integrations Curriculum Assessment' with a link to the handout from this training as well as a recording of one of the sessions.

Microsoft OneDrive

Microsoft OneDrive will be replacing staff and faculty M Drives. OneDrive is a place where you can share documents, edit documents with others, and access them from anywhere.
Come to this session and see hwo OneDrive works. Find out how to create, edit, and share documents and how to access your documents through the web or explorer view.

Starting with Microsoft Teams

Part of the Office 365 package, Microsoft Teams, is a collaborative tool allowing everyone in a 'team' to communicate directly with each other and share documents in a common space. In this session you will learn what Microsoft Teams is, how to create a team and see a brief demonstration on how to use the software.

Teams & Microsoft O365 Apps

Reserving Conference Rooms and Services with EMS

Scheduling Appointments with Microsoft Bookings

Microsoft Bookings is part of our Microsoft Office 365 package. This online tool syncs with your Outlook Calendar to allow people to schedule time with you based on when you are available. In this session we'll cover how to access your Bookings page, how to setup different meeting types, and how people book time with you. Sessions will take place online via Zoom. You'll receive a Zoom Meeting Link prior to the training.

Folio
Register for Training
Folio is an academic portfolio network allowing students to showcase their education and work accomplishments and connect with other professionals. A Folio profile allows you to organize and display previous educational and professional content. Integrations Curriculum students will be required to create an ePortfolio as a high-impact practice which allow students to collect work and reflect on what they've learned as they move through their education. Folio is integrated into Canvas.
In this training session learn how to set-up your Folio, how create a project, and how to submit that project to a Canvas assignment.

The HIVE - Getting Started for New Instructors

This session will offer the knowledge and training needed to be able to do the following in The HIVE:
- Progress Surveys – what are they and how to complete them
- Raising alerts outside of the survey process
- When to Comment on and/or clear alerts
- Navigate the HIVE and manage your view on the student list
- Overview of office hours – drop in appts, appointment types and online scheduling
- Adding meeting outcomes and streamlining post meeting communication with students
- How “notes” work

The HIVE - Training for Faculty Advisors
Register for Training
While there are many ways The HIVE can be used, there are specific tools and features that Faculty Advisors should be familiar with to best support students at CSB and SJU. Attend oen session to learn about features and tools used by the Faculty Advisor as well as a few features you want to guide your advisees towards using within The HIVE. This session assumes that you have an understanding of The HIVE and that you have completed setting up your profile prior to attending the session. Please bring your own laptop to this session.

The HIVE - Open Office Hours & Open Lab

Technology Skills for Students
Are your students using technology on campus to the fullest to help them succeed? If not, we can help! We are offering sessions in your classroom to show students the different technologies they can utilize to help them feel more confident on how to use them and how to find help if they need it.
We are offering a basic session or an advanced session. During the basic session we will cover topics such as: Folio, Outlook, Canvas, One Drive, Virtual Computer Lab (accessing it and what programs can be found there), downloading the Office programs, how to utilize the resources available from the Library (booking a room) and how to find help through IT Services. In the advanced session we will go a little more in-depth on how to utilize Outlook (rules, calendaring, etc.) and features in Word they may not be utilizing (tracking changes, saving to OneDrive, etc.), and Excel items such basic functions. We will also cover Teams and how to utilize it for a class. Or, if you have specific items you’d like your students to know how to use, we can add that to either session.
