Instructional Technology can transfer physical and analogue audio, video and picture materials into digital formats for non-copyrighted and CSB/SJU created materials. Instructional Technology will need to obtain a version of the original media to digitize. Orders are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Please allow adequate time for project completion.
Digitizing media is the act of taking an analogue format or physical media (like an audio cassette or Polaroid picture) and converting it into a format that can be used, viewed and preserved on a digital device (like a computer). Instructional Technology can accommodate a number of final digital media formats including digital files, data discs and DVDs. If you're unsure what final digital format will work best for you, a Instructional Technology staff member can help determine your needs.
The Instructional Technology department of CSB/SJU follows the Code of Conduct for members of the Consortium of College and University Media Centers (CCUMC) with regard to copyright matters. Instructional Technology will not be able to digitize media with copyrighted content in most situations. Please review our Copyright Policy for more information.
