Benefits

CSB/SJU offers employees a comprehensive benefits program which reflects a commitment to a family friendly workplace. Employees may be eligible for the following benefits based on their appointment status. Benefits are subject to change annually.

Health Insurance (Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Minnesota)

Employees are eligible for coverage in the health insurance plan on the first of the month following their date of hire. If you elect medical coverage for yourself, you may also choose to cover your eligible dependents. Both the employee and the employer share in the cost for this benefit.

Dental Insurance (Delta Dental)

Employees are eligible for coverage in the dental insurance plan on the first of the month following their date of hire. If you elect dental coverage for yourself, you may also choose to cover your eligible dependents. Both the employee and the employer share in the cost for this benefit. 

Vision Plan (Eye Med, effective July 1, 2017)

This voluntary plan offers affordable vision coverage for routine eye exams, eyeglass lenses and frames, and contact lenses. Discounts on hearing exams and hearing aids are also included.

Life Insurance

CSB/SJU provides a Basic Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) policy to employees with the option to purchase additional insurance coverage for themselves and their eligible dependents. 

Vacation

Employees begin accruing paid vacation leave from their date of hire prorated each pay period based upon appointment FTE. 

Paid Holidays

Employees receive paid holidays in accordance with the applicable employee handbooks. 

Sick Leave

Employees begin accruing paid sick leave from their date of hire prorated each pay period based upon appointment FTE and in accordance with the applicable accrual limits defined in each employee handbook. Sick leave may be utilized to care for yourself, your spouse and dependent children in accordance with Family Medical Leave guidelines.

A full-time benefit eligible employee may receive a paid parental leave due to the birth or adoption of a child. The eligibility requirements and duration of the leave period is granted in accordance with the applicable employee handbook. 

Long-Term Disability

After one year of full-time benefit eligible employment, CSB/SJU provides long term disability coverage at no cost to the employee. 

Flexible Spending Accounts/Health Savings Account (Further, Formerly Select Care)

These plans allow employees to set aside part of their salary on a pre-tax basis to pay for IRS approved expenses. 

Tuition Remission

Tuition remission is an educational benefit provided by CSB/SJU.  A full time employee and spouse (if applicable) are eligible for tuition free educational benefits the first full semester after six months of employment. The payment of special fees is the responsiblity of the employee.  Full time employees may enroll for one undergraduate course per term, which includes summer, up to a maximum of 2 courses per year.

There is also a tuition remission program for dependent children of full time emplyees. This progrm provides a financial resource to a son or daughter for meeting the tuition costs of undergraduate education. Eligibility begins the fall or spring semester following 5 years (60 months) of continuous full-time employment. CSB/SJU will grant tuition remission the next full semester to the dependent, providing the dependent meets the academic requiremments.  There are also two consortia programs in which CSB/SJU participate where employees' children may apply for scholarships to attend other colleges/universities.

Tuition Assistance

The tuition assistance plan is an educational benefit provided by CSB/SJU to a qualified son or daughter of a full time employee toward meeting the tuition costs at Saint John's Preparatory School. The dependent must meet the eligibility criteria in order to receive this benefit. 

Employee Assistance Program

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is a free counseling resource available to all employees and immediate family members. EAP counselors can help you identify problems and concerns regarding family, marriage, emotions, alcohol or drugs, financial difficulties, legal issues and job stress. All contacts between you, your family, and the EAP are provided as a benefit from CSB/SJU and are kept strictly confidential.

Retirement Program (TIAA)

Full time benefit eligible employees may participate in a retirement program administered by TIAA effective the first day of the month following the date of hire unless the employee elects to opt-out.  The employee is required to contribute in order to receive the contribution from CSB/SJU.  Additional information regarding TIAA is available at www.tiaa.org

Supplemental Retirement Program

CSB/SJU offers an opportunity for employees to voluntarily participate in an additional supplemental retirement plan.
