Medicine in East Asia, East Asian Christianity, medical missions, popular culture in history, gender and labor history, nationalism.

Research: 

Dr. Perelman is currently working on her next book about the relationship between Christianity and international relations following Japan's defeat and the American Occupation through the lens of the tragedy of the Toya Maru ferry disaster.
