Personal Statement

My journey of helping people with their fitness and nutritional goals began over 20 years ago. My passion is guiding people of all abilities and ages to find the right comgination of nutrition and physical activity to achieve their health goals. I love working with people of all ages and abilities because each of us can succeed when we put our minds to it. It may not always be easy, but it will be worth it.

People often shy away from fitness classes because they have a fear that they will not be able to keep up with others, have injuries or other limitations, or feel intimidated by joining a group that has already been working out together. I am able to give individualized attention and modifications as needed, as well as help with proper form and technique. Even in the most advanced classes you will find people doing different versions of exercises based on their level of fitness. I enjoy helping beginners create a fitness routine, lose weight, and establish healthy eating habits as much as I enjoy helping an elite athlete increase their strength and speed. Health at Work is a great tool to help with your fitness goals.

One of my favorite things about the class is watching how close everyone becomes, how they build on each other's successes, can encourage each other and laugh together, especially when it is a challenging day. I continue to be amazed at everyone's willingness to try new things and help each other. No matter the age or ability, we all work together to make it a fun, enjoyable, and welcoming atmosphere. I know all too well the challenges that can get in the way of a healthy lifestyle and I use my own personal experiences as well as those of my clients to help guide people through their own hurdles and find the right fit for their lifestyle. People often hear that I am very tough and my workouts are extremely difficult. You will find that, yes, I will push people to challenge themselves, but I will also adapt and modify for each person's needs. I will meet you at your fitness level and help you move to a new one.
