Program: London Fall/Spring Semester

Major: Psychology

Minor: Theater

Why did you choose to study abroad and how did you decide on this program?

I wanted to experience a multicultural and vibrant city while also exploring career interests through an internship.

Briefly describe a specific cultural experience you had on your trip that made a lasting impression.

Exploring London's many parks, museums, and cultural sites was so much more meaningful for me when paired with classes on British culture and history.

Describe your overall study abroad experience.

I usually sum up my time in London as a mix of public transportation, museums, theater, parks, and making great friendships.

Based on your experiences abroad, what are some of the benefits of spending a semester abroad? How has studying abroad contributed to your personal, academic, and professional development?

It's absolutely true what they say: you can't truly understand or appreciate your own culture and worldview until you are immersed in a different culture, lifestyle, and cultural worldview. A semester study abroad, especially with the opportunity to work and get to know local coworkers, is an excellent way to expand your understanding of the world as well as your own culture.

What advice can you offer for CSB/SJU students who are considering or planning to study abroad?

First of all: do it!
Second: choose a program that matches your interests or passions, even if it means you'll be outside of your usual comfort zone.
