Why did you choose to study abroad and how did you decide on this program?

I decided to study abroad because I wanted to explore the world and fully experience the culture of another country while earning school credits.

Briefly describe a specific cultural experience you had on your trip that made a lasting impression.

I immersed myself in Greek culture and made friends with local Athenians while watching the sunset on a hill. These friends helped show me around the city and gave me great advice on where to go and where not to in the city.

Describe your overall study abroad experience.

It was a trip of a lifetime. I became great friends with most of the people on my trip. From Athens to Rome, we made countless memories that I will remember until the day I die. We made great relationships with the faculty there and saw an unimaginable amount of art and history. It was the best semester of my life.

Based on your experiences abroad, what are some of the benefits of spending a semester abroad? How has studying abroad contributed to your personal, academic, and professional development?

I have a much more worldly view of things. I see now how important everything that goes on in the USA is to the rest of the world. I am also now an experienced traveler and would feel comfortable traveling almost anywhere in the world. My experience is a great way for me to find similarities with other people. It makes me more interesting both personally and professionally. Academically speaking, I now can say that I understand where and how modern art was create

What advice can you offer for CSB|SJU students who are considering or planning to study abroad?

My biggest advice would be DO IT. I think that no matter how hard a student might think it will be for them to study abroad. it will always be worth it. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity do NOT miss out on it.
