Course & Program Information

Prior German language study is recommended, but not required. Students must have completed 4 semesters before starting the internship and the internship must be related to their major field of study.

Students are required to take this internship for credit; CGE recommends that students pursue a 1 credit internship to fulfill the Experiential Learning requirement of the common curriculum (however only 1 credit is required to participate in the program). The Experience and Professional Development Office can assist with this process

On this program students will have the opportunity to intern at one of the many placement sites offered by the Germany Summer Internships. Students will also be able to learn about the rich history of Germany and the roles it plays in the European Union and the world. Students will work with a CSB alum to find a placement which matches their field of study. Possible internship sites include social and educational organizations, financial institutions, start-ups and medium to large companies. Prior German language study is not required, although some familiarity with the language is recommended.
