Mostar is a city in southern Bosnia and Herzegovina, straddling the Neretva River. It's known for the iconic Stari Most (Old Bridge), a reconstructed medieval arched bridge. The nearby alleys are full of shops and market stalls, and the Old Bridge Museum explores the bridge's long history. A narrow staircase leads up to the Koski Mehmed-Pasha Mosque's minaret for panoramic city views.

Course Name: International Internship
Course Number: DEPT 397
Credit Number: 1-4 credits
Designation: Experiential Learning
Participants are required to take this internship for at least 1 credit, but earn up to 4 credits at the summer rate. The Experience and Professional Development Office can assist with this process.
On this program, students will have the opportunity to intern at one of the many placement sites offered by the Bosnia and Herzegovina Summer Internships. Students will also be able to learn about the rich history of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Students will be placed at a non-governmental or community-based organizations in Mostar. In the past, students have worked with organizations such as Nesto Vise, Alturist, and American Corner.
Program Cost & Financial Considerations
The estimated program fee is $1,375. Additionally, students will pay the cost of 1-4 CSB/SJU credit(s) at the reduced summer tuition rate (estimated at $635 per credit).
The program fee includes:
- Housing while the program is in session
- Program administrative costs and fees
- CISI Medical & Evacuation Insurance
The program fee does not include:
- Passport Application fee ($145)
- Non-program travel or housing
- Roundtrip airfare
- Local Transportation
- Food/Meal expenses
- Personal expenses
The Short-Term Abroad Financing Brochure includes estimates for the items not included in the program fee. If accepted in the Global Fellowship Program, a $1,000 Fellowship award is applied to your program. Please note, Global Fellows are not eligible for the CSB global scholarship, but are eligible for other external scholarships.

While on this program, you will stay in apartment style housing with other CSB/SJU program participants. Housing includes laundry facilities, internet access, and is conveniently located near public transportation and local markets.
