Academics

Our academic program is located at the CEA Seville Center, housed in a historic building located near the famous Royal Alcazar palace and la Giralda cathedral.  Courses will be offered through the CEA Seville Center and the Universidad Pablo de Olavide, where you will study alongside students from CSB+SJU and other US and international universities.

Your learning will come to life through hands-on experiences that turn Seville into a living classroom.  Learn from the  famous museums, monuments, and historic sites throughout southern Spain. The on-site excursions are designed to be an integral part of experiential learning.

Course offerings may vary year-to-year, but students on this program will be able to take courses that meet the requirements of the Hispanic Studies major/minor, along with many requirements of the Integrations Curriculum.  Coursework will be offered in areas such as Art, Business, Communications, Cultural Studies, History, Literature, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, Spanish, and Spain and Iberian Studies. Students who wish to take CEA Seville Center or Universidad Pablo de Olavide courses to fulfill a major or minor course requirement must get approval from the Department Chair.

Accommodations

Participants will live individually in Spanish homes. Students will be provided with their meals (three meals a day, seven days per week) when in their Spanish home. This arrangement for meals in their Spanish home for the duration of the academic program is included in the cost of the program; however, on excursions students will be responsible for their meals.  Students will live within a 20-30 minute walk of the CEA Seville Center.

Financial Considerations

During a semester abroad, CSB+SJU students pay the same tuition as if on campus. Instead of paying CSB+SJU Housing and Meal Plan, all students studying abroad pay an Education Abroad Program Fee.  Find Program Fee information on the CSBSJU-Global Portal

Students should plan early for a successful study abroad experience.  Financial aid and scholarships may be available to help with the program costs, but must be searched out well in advance.
