Health Insurance

The Center for Global Education will enroll all students participating in a CSB/SJU sponsored or affiliated program abroad in comprehensive accident and sickness insurance provided by Cultural Insurance Services International (CISI). CISI provides in-country medical insurance, emergency medical evacuation, natural disaster and political unrest evacuation, and repatriation of remains. This insurance goes above and beyond U.S. healthcare coverage and helps students make arrangements to go abroad with a medical condition. The cost of the CISI insurance is determined by the length of the program and will be incorporated into the overall cost of their program. The coverage will only include the official program dates, although students have the option of extending coverage to include pre- and post-program travel. For more details regarding the coverage of the plan, please view the brochure.

CSB/SJU policy requires each student to maintain enrollment in a health coverage plan through the student’s dependence on a family plan, an individually acquired policy, or a student plan. Students should maintain their U.S. health insurance while they are abroad.
