Gender Studies Faculty

Welcome to Liam Lair, Ph.D. as the first full-time faculty for the Gender Studies Department.

Dr. Liam Oliver Lair is faculty in the Department of Gender Studies at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University. His teaching and research are rooted in feminist studies with a specific focus sexuality, queerness, trans politics, and race. His current project examines the pervasive influence of eugenics on the original diagnoses of gender "deviance." One of his favorite things about being in the academy is teaching and working with students. More specifically, he loves collaborating with students in the interest of understanding and articulating how feminism can be transformative for all of us regardless of gender, sexuality, race, or any other aspect of who we are in the world.
