TaikoProject’s powerful drumming unites ancient Japanese tradition with 21st century American innovation to create a riot of movement and thundering rhythm. This show creates a spellbinding mix of music, theater and precision. The group received international acclaim when it became the first American ensemble to win the prestigious Tokyo International Taiko Contest. 

TaikoProject's school matinee performance, BIG RHYTHMS, BIG DRUMS, has been performed across America to tens of thousands of students. This show combines engaging explanations of taiko's history in the U.S. and Japan with explanations of the musical instrumentation, oral traditions, cultural context and, most importantly, thrilling performance to create a riveting, educational experience.

Recommended Grades:  2nd - 12th grade
Tickets: $6 student, $6 adult
