Dr. Jake Erickson serves as the Lab Coordinator for the Exercise Science Lab.
Scholarship
Dr. Erickson’s primary academic research interests are focused on exercise program design for improving body composition and cardiometabolic health. Recently, he has conducted research focusing on recovery after exercise training by assessing cardiovascular, autonomic, and subjective measures of fatigue and recovery with the goal of establishing criteria to minimize risks associated with overtraining.
Applied Experience
Jake has worked in a variety of areas in the field of exercise science including personal training, group fitness, strength training and conditioning, and cardiovascular diagnostics. He has specialized training to design exercise programs specifically for the prenatal and postnatal populations. He also taught health and physical education in the K-12 system before beginning his master’s degree.
