Brita Thielen - CSB, Class of 2011
I graduated from the College of Saint Benedict in 2011 with a degree in English and Hispanic Studies. Immediately after graduation, I served as a volunteer sixth-grade teacher in Honduras before becoming the Director of Client Support at In Touch, a corporate ethics and whistleblower hotline company in Minneapolis. I left this position in 2014 to pursue a PhD in English. I received my MA in English Literature with a Certificate in the Teaching of Writing from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2016. I am currently a PhD Candidate in English at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH, where I teach undergraduate writing and conduct research at the intersections of rhetoric, identity, and food writing. I would be happy to talk to undergraduates who are considering graduate school in English (feel free to reach out to me via my professional website).
