Computer Gaming Club Constitution
Article I: Name and Purpose
Section 1: Name
CSB SJU Computer Gaming Club
Section 2: Purpose/Mission
To create a place where SJU and CSB students who enjoy gaming can come together to compete in and work with computer games.
Section 3: Affiliation:

Article II: Membership
Section 1: Eligibilitytor Membership
The Computer Gaming Club is open to any CSB/SJU student. Faculty and staff are not allowed to be full members, but they can be non-voting, affiliate members and participate in events.
Section 2: Voting Member Criteria
To become a voting member of the Computer Gaming Club you must attend the majority of meetings and participate in events.
Section 3: Removal of Members
If a member needs to be removed they will be given a reasonable notice to the for being considered for removal, opportunity to defend their position, a trial with voting by other members.
Article III: Officers
Section 1: Officer Qualifications
All officers must be current CSB/SJU student, active members of the club, and maintaining their academic grades.

Department of Student Activities contact person is the president.
Also clearly identify the Co-Funding Board (CFB) and Joint Club Board (JCB) contacts are the president and vice-presidents.
Section 3: Duties of Officers
President (1): preside at meetings, call special meetings, primary contact with the institutions, appoint committee chairs, runs the election process, primary contact with the JCB, schedule meeting/practice rooms/facilities, plans member/officer training programs, notify members of meetings.
Vice-President (1): presides at meetings, calls special meetings.
Secretary/Webmaster: takes and distributes minutes of all club meetings, recorder keeper (current and past members, files minutes, etc), club historian, handles the official correspondences of the club and manages the CGC webpage.
Treasurer: keeps all financial records, submits monthly audit statements to CFB contact, notifies organization of financial issues, prepares budget/allocation requests,
Section 4: Vacancy in Office
In the event a vacancy should occur (resignation, graduation, or removal), than a special election will occur to replace the open position.
Section 5: Removal of Officers
If club members feel an officer must be removed the following steps must be taken.
A petition to remove the officer in question must be submitted to another officer. This petition must contain the signatures of 3 of voting members. When such petition is received, the officer shall call a meeting of the club to determine whether or not the officer should be removed.
Grounds for removal are to presented by the officer in charge at a regular or special club meeting.
The officer in question shall be provided an opportunity to present a defense either in person or in writing.
A quorum shall be present, and a 2/3’s vote of the voting members shall decide upon removal.
Section 6: Appeal of Removal of Officers
If a removed officer wants to appeal the removal, he or she can call second vote at the next scheduled meeting or ask an officer to have a special meeting.
Article IV: Elections
Section 1: Nomination Process
If a member seeks an officer position an election will be held each semester. They can campaign for the position desired and will be voted on by other members of the club.
Section 2: Election
The election process will be held over a two week period, and voted on the weekend of the second week. Voting will be done by secret ballet. A person can run as qany terms as desired.
Section 3: Special Elections
If an officer resigns or is removed the position a special week long election will take place.
Article V: Advisor
Section 1: Selection
Any staff member of SJU or CSB willing to advise is allowed, although computer science related is preferred.
Section 2: Duties

Article VI: Meetings
Section 1: Regular Meeting/Club Activities
Meetings will occur when officers deem it necessary, at least once a month.
Section 2: Special Meetings
Special meetings will occur when officers deem it necessary.
Section 3: Parliamentary Authority
The Computer Gaming club will use Robert’s Rules of Order.,. what ever that is.
Section 4: Ouorum*
2/3’s of the club must be present at meetings or elections for any significant changes or votes to occur.
Article VII: Committees
Section 1: Committee Structure
Members can have committees (clans if you will) with their own hierachies and rules.
Section 2: Special/Ad-Hoc Committees
No special/ad-hoc committees will be necessary.
Article VIII: Finances
Section 1: Co-Funding Board
The Computer Gaming Club will apply for CFB monies and if allocated resources, it will follow all CFB and institutional regulations and will not have an off-campus account, even if it is from club generated funds.
Section 2: Honorariums
No one will receive honorariums.
Section 3: Dues (optional)
At this point dues are not required, but donations are accepted to pay for costs of running and maintaining servers.
Article IX: Amendments
Section 1: Ratification
If this wonderful constitution is not considered absolutely perfect then members will vote on changing it at a meeting.
Section 2: Submittal to Department of Student Activities and Joint Club Board
Any changes made to this constitution will be submitted to the Department of Student Activities and the JCB.
Article X: Discrimination
The CSB SJU Computer Gaming Club admits students without regard to their race, religion, color, sex, age, sexual orientation or national or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and other activities, generally accorded or made available to members of the organization.
Article XI: Hazing
The CSB SJU Computer Gaming Club considers hazing to be a degrading and destructive activity which is inconsistent with the standards of this student organization. The CSB SJU Computer Gaming Club recognizes the dignity of every person and opposes all forms of hazing.
