CSB Planned Power Shutdown
Dear CSB Community,
Due to a critical issue with Xcel Energy’s electrical system supplying campus, there will be a planned campus-wide power shutdown from 12:01-5:00 a.m. Monday, April 29. This outage will affect most of the CSB campus. During the shutdown ALL power will be out of service – lighting in all buildings, exterior lighting on campus, outlets, corded phones, WiFi, elevators, drinking fountains, card access to buildings (residence halls will be accessible via keys only), emergency (BLUE) phones on campus, etc. This shutdown will NOT impact SJU, and it will NOT impact the lighting and power in College Avenue Apartments, off-campus CSB-owned houses or Centennial Commons, but WiFi and corded phones will be out of service in these areas. Toilets and sinks will remain operational throughout campus. All non-residential buildings will be inaccessible during the outage.
There will be emergency exterior security lighting provided in limited locations around campus. It is recommended that you charge cell phones and other essential items before the outage. Travel outside residence rooms and halls is not advised during this timeframe.
Please use your cell phone to call Campus Security at 320-363-0563 if you need assistance during this time.
Classes and campus functions will resume, as scheduled, on Monday morning.
