The CSB dance program is a national power, having twice captured UDA national championships in the pom division in 2013 and 2014 and making regular trips to the national competition in both the pom and jazz divisions each January.
The club seeks to provide a positive and healthy environment that allows participants to showcase their passion and talent for dance to the community while practicing high academic achievement and effective time management.
The club actually consists of two teams – the club dance team which performs during halftime of Saint John’s University football games and CSB soccer games, and a competition team that performs pom and jazz at a variety of dance shows and competitions.
Tryouts are held in the spring of each school year for the following year’s dance seasons. Participants must be a registered CSB student by the fall of the coming year and have a physical within the past three years on file. They also must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 1.8 or greater after the first semester of college and a 2.0 thereafter.
