CSB Crew

On a campus dotted by some of Minnesota’s most pristine lakes, it’s not surprising that rowing has always been one of the most popular club sports at the College of Saint Benedict.

The CSB crew club offers opportunities for competitive and non-competitive rowers alike. It is entirely student-run, offering a great opportunity to develop hands-on leadership skills.

The season typically stretches from September through late October, though teams sometimes attend additional competitions in the spring. Our competitive crew teams often enter competitions against Division I and II schools and travel to regattas across the Midwest.

Practices are held in the early mornings on picturesque Lake Sagatagan, allowing rowers to take in magnificent views of the campus at sunrise and be done with their workouts by the time class starts.

We are based out of the boathouse located on the shore of the lake, and participants also train on rowing machines in the Warner Palaestra – the hub of SJU athletics.
