Maintenance/Transportation Building
In the late 1980s, the need was identified for a new physical plant building that would include space for a new bus garage, equipment repair shop, storage, central receiving and distribution, a paint room, a woodworking room, and office space for physical plant employees. Previously, a Convent-owned barn and garage was used to house some of these facilities, but the barn was in poor condition and the Convent encouraged the College to vacate and find new space.
While originally the idea had been to build an entirely new facility, work was ultimately done to instead renovate and add on to an already existing metal storage building and maintenance shop in 1993. In 1996, transportation, grounds, and recycling were removed from the maintenance shop and instead relocated to a new addition, while the shop itself was renovated to include work, office, and shipping and receiving space.
